Whether a simple schooner or an elegant design classic, a magnificent party mile or a luxurious wellness temple: yachts are simply spectacular. And, unlike any other property, these water palaces can also sail to the most beautiful places in the world. We have put together the 10 most beautiful yachts in the world for you.
If you fancy a little luxury holiday at sea yourself , take a look at what we have to offer.
The 10 most beautiful yachts:
Alfa Nero
The Alfa Nero, built by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco, was presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2007. This impressive 81-meter yacht impresses with beautiful organic lines and a stylish exterior and is one of the most beautiful yachts in the world.
On the spacious outdoor decks you can admire the ocean from a huge pool, while the interior is characterized by modern design with Art Deco elements. The Alfa Nero is an elegant mix of design, functionality and vision.
Pelorus
Built in 2003 by the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen and designed by the world-famous yacht designer Tim Heywood, the Pelorus cannot be missed in the list of the most beautiful yachts in the world. The organic lines and shapes of the deck structure are reflected in the design of the hull and create a harmony that, we are sure, will never get old.
The Maltese Falcon
The Maltese Falcon, built in 2006 by Perini Navi, stands out for its simple and particularly functional design.
Ken Freivoch, the designer of this great yacht, confirms that it was designed according to the principle of ‘form follows function’. The Maltese Falcon is neither ostentatious nor does it follow set design rules. We love the simple but strong lines and think that even with yachts, less is sometimes more.
Azzam
With a length of 180 meters, the Azzam is currently the longest private mega yacht in the world. It steals the title from the Eclipse, Roman Abramovich’s luxury yacht. This floating palace was launched in 2013 at the Lürssen shipyard and is owned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
The Azzam has seven decks, a helipad, a 520m² lounge and, allegedly, even a private submarine and missile defense system. The whole thing cost an estimated 500 million euros.
Christina O
Sir Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe have both enjoyed themselves on the deck of this beautiful yacht. The Christina O was built by the Canadian Vickers shipyard for the Canadian Navy during the Second World War and even took part in the Allied landings in Normandy. In 1948, Aristotle Onassis had it converted into a luxury yacht and named after his daughter.
Solandge
The Solandge was the highlight of the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2015 and it’s not hard to see why. The Solandge was built in 2013 by the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen and was the longest yacht in the show at 85 metres. During the day you can relax in the gym or sauna, with a massage or at the hairdresser, while at night the whirlpool on deck in Monaco was transformed into an open-air party with a DJ booth.
A week’s vacation on the Solandge costs at least 1 million dollars, and anyone who wants to buy the yacht has to pay 175 million.
At Borrow A Boat you are on the cheaper side: you can book our luxury yachts from just 1000€.
Savarona
The Savarona was built in 1931 by the Hamburg shipyard Blohm + Voss for Emily Roebling Cadwallader, whose family built the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges. At 134 meters, the Savarona was the largest yacht in the world at the time. In 1938, the Savarona was bought by Turkey as a gift for Kemal Atatürk. With its great gold accents, the Savarona is, for us, without question one of the most beautiful yachts in the world.
Aviva
This beautiful 68-meter yacht was commissioned by an entrepreneur from the Bremen yacht builders Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007. Externally, this yacht impresses with its unusual hull shape, while the interior design leaves nothing to be desired in terms of luxury. In addition to a huge observation deck, passengers also have access to a cinema, gym and wellness area.
Athena
This huge, luxurious three-master belongs to American software developer Jim Clark. The beautiful design of the deck structure and hull makes the Athena not only one of the most beautiful yachts we have seen in a long time, but one of the most beautiful yachts in the world. As you would expect, the Athena is not only equipped with teak, but also with the latest computer technology.
Carinthia VI
The iconic Carinthia VI owes its existence to the very short survival of its predecessor, the Carinthia V, which ran aground off Kefalonia on its first voyage in 1971. The German department store heir Helmut Horten commissioned Lürssen to build the Carinthia VI the very next day, and it has since become an icon in the yachting world.
At the time, the dramatic deck structure was considered a radical design decision and the designer, Jon Bannenburg, quickly gained a reputation as an experimental architect. Charinthia VI is now known and loved worldwide for her clean, understated lines and charming style.
