Google Ads introduces new consent settings tab in Data Manager

Google Ads is rolling out a new data privacy feature, giving advertisers more control over managing user consent.

Why we care. As privacy concerns grow and cookies aren’t going anywhere (at least for now), this update allows for more granular control over how personal data is handled in ad campaigns, which fits with Google’s plans to give users more control.

Details:

  • New “Consent Settings” tab added to Data Manager in Google Ads.
  • Separate settings for website data and imported/downloaded data.
  • Limited availability, with some accounts having access.

What to watch. How widely Google is rolling out this feature and whether it will become a standard part of the Google Ads interface for all users.

Seen for the first time. We were alerted to this update on the PPC News Feed blog:

Bottom line. Advertisers should verify their accounts for this new feature and review their consent settings to ensure compliance with data privacy standards.
